Wily Technology
Introduces Introscope® Version 2.5
New Scalability and Integration Features Bolster Web Application
Monitor
Burlingame, CA - March 13, 2001 - Wily Technology, Inc.
a leader in Web Application Management, today introduced
Introscope Enterprise Edition 2.5, the newest version of
its Java Web site performance management product.
Introscope manages run-time Java Web applications on any
live performance production site and reports exactly how
they are performing. Enhancements to the new version include
integration of Introscope with IBM's WebSphere* Application
Server and increased functionality of Wily's core technology
to support multi-application and multi-server environments.
"Version 2.5 is a significant step forward in the development
of Introscope," said Lewis Cirne, Wily founder and CEO. "With
the growing deployment of Java-based applications, Web-centric
businesses are constantly looking for better ways to manage
these complex technologies. With Introscope 2.5, we've created
a performance monitoring tool designed to grow with our customers
by supporting multiple systems through one easy-to-use enterprise
manager.
With support for WebSphere, Wily increases the number of
platforms that can leverage its performance management tool.
The solution is designed to allow Web-centric companies to
optimize leading Java-based Web technology by pinpointing
potential bottlenecks before they occur. In addition to the
WebSphere Application Server, Introscope fully supports other
Java application platforms including Sun and Hewlett-Packard.
"Robust and scalable middleware, such as WebSphere,
is just as important to achieving high reliability and performance
as the underlying operating system and the hardware," said
Paraic Sweeney, vice president of marketing, IBM WebSphere. "The
addition of Introscope to monitor Java-based systems performance
offers customers a valuable additional management tool they
can use to ensure WebSphere e-business applications are optimized
in a production environment."
"The ability to accurately and effectively monitor
the performance of Web technology from within the Java application
is critical for today's e-businesses," said Vic Nyman,
vice president of marketing at Wily Technology. "Not
only does Introscope do just that, but with the increased
functionality of version 2.5, we've made it even easier by
adding enhanced data capturing and tracking, multi-server
monitoring support and ready-to-run reports, to give businesses
a complete Web application management tool."
Unlike other performance solutions that monitor applications
outside of the Web server, Wily's Introscope Enterprise Edition
2.5 manages the entire system by analyzing performance from
within the application itself. Additionally, Introscope manages
third party Java code, JDBC Databases, RMI connections and
transaction monitors to offer a comprehensive application
manager that can identify the exact EJB, Servlet, Method
or external connection that may be causing problems.
