Wily Announces
Software Agreement With BEA Systems
Licensing Agreement Will Speed Implementation of BEA WebLogic
Server
Burlingame, CA - September 13, 2001 - Wily Technology, Inc.
(www.wilytech.com) , the emerging leader in Web Application
Management, today announced that BEA Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:
BEAS), one of the world's leading e-business infrastructure
software companies, has signed an enterprise license agreement
with Wily Technology. This agreement allows BEA to leverage
Wily's Introscope technology, the only Web application monitor
that manages run-time Java Web applications on any live production
site and reports exactly how they are performing.
Through the licensing agreement, BEA sales engineers and
professional service consultants can use Introscope to help
optimize performance and ensure a high level of interoperability
of applications running on the BEA WebLogic E-Business Platform.
"This agreement is going to give BEA and its customers
a tremendous advantage," said Kent Sieckman, vice-president
of BEA Systems Engineering. "As more and more companies
use Java technology to deliver mission-critical Web and transactional
applications, the need for powerful Java-based performance
solutions has dramatically increased. With access to Introscope,
Wily has made it much easier, both in terms of sales and
support, for us to help our customers adopt and manage leading-edge
WebLogic solutions."
"This is a great next step in our relationship with
BEA," said Jeff Samberg, Wily's vice-president of business
development. "With Introscope now available to the company's
sales engineers and professional services consultants, BEA
can bring Introscope to customer engagements in addition
to using it as a benchmarking tool for WebLogic upgrades.
This is a validation of the importance of Introscope and
its ability to work within the Java application and the application
server."
Unlike other performance solutions that monitor applications
outside the Web server, Wily's Introscope manages the entire
system by analyzing performance from within the application
itself. Additionally, Introscope manages third-party Java
code, JDBC Databases, RMI connections and transaction monitors
to offer a comprehensive application management tool that
can identify the exact EJB, Servlet, method or external connection
that may be causing problems.
