Wily Technology
Boosts Support for IBM Java Platforms with AIX Platform Monitor
and New Release of PowerPack for WebSphere®
New Products Offer Enhanced Application Management For
IBM Customers
Burlingame, CA - June 25, 2002 - Wily Technology, the leader
in Enterprise Web Application Management, today announced
increased support for IBM's AIX operating platform and WebSphere
Application Server with the addition of Introscope® AIX
Platform Monitor and the latest version of Introscope PowerPack for
WebSphere.
AIX, IBM's robust and scalable UNIX platform, runs across
the entire range of RS/6000 systems, from entry-level servers
and workstations to powerful supercomputers like the RS/6000
SP, which runs some of the most complex commercial and technical
workloads in the world. AIX Platform Monitor is a new feature
of Introscope, Wily's flagship application monitoring solution,
which provides users with detailed operating system performance
metrics such as process ID, aggregate CPU utilization and
CPU utilization for the Web application process. Wily's AIX
Platform Monitor increases Introscope's ability to deliver
a "whole application view" into the entire Java
environment including operating systems, production JVMs,
the Java application, the application server and connected
back-end systems.
Developed in cooperation with the WebSphere Development
Team, Wily's PowerPack for WebSphere combines the ability
of Introscope to monitor the performance of production J2EE
components such as EJBs, JSPs and Servlets with measurements
specific to WebSphere. Version 1.2 enhances PowerPack's visibility
into critical WebSphere resources by adding Object Request
Broker (ORB) thread statistics such as active, idle and pending
requests. The addition of ORB metrics increases the breadth
and depth of PowerPack's monitoring capability, making it
easier than ever for operations personnel and professional
services personnel to fine-tune their systems for optimal
performance.
"Enterprises of all kinds must ensure that their customers,
trading partners and employees have the very best online
experiences," said Vic Nyman, senior vice president
of marketing at Wily Technology. "The best way for these
companies to reach the goal of a predictably superior user
experience is to manage and optimize the high-performance
e-business solutions they deploy on platforms such as IBM's
AIX and WebSphere Application Server. Introscope and Wily's
family of application management solutions allow IT personnel
to identify performance issues in live applications before
they affect the customer experience. Together, Wily and IBM
are working to help their enterprise customers meet service
level goals by eliminating downtime and increasing performance."
Wily's Introscope and its family of PowerPack extensions
make it easier than ever to manage any large-scale Enterprise
Web Application and its environment. Integrated with WebSphere,
Introscope monitors the performance of live production Java
applications and pinpoints the exact cause of performance
bottlenecks whether inside the application at the component
level or outside the application in an external system such
as the database server, security server or any connected
back-end system.
