Wily Technology
Extends Leadership in First Half of 2002
Growing Roster of Enterprises Choose Wily's Introscope® to
Ensure 24x7 Availability and High Performance of Critical
Java Applications
Burlingame, CA, July 30, 2002 Wily Technology, the
leader in Enterprise Web Application Management, today announced
that sales through June 2002 have already surpassed full-year
2001 totals. Wilys customers, many of them Fortune
1000 companies, have chosen Introscope® to optimize the
performance of their mission-critical, Web applications thus
ensuring a predictably superior user experience for their
customers and trading partners.
Wily is taking an early industry lead in several market
segments where high performance is a business requirement.
The following are among the many firms joining Wilys
already extensive roster of global corporate and public sector
customers in the first half of 2002:
- Financial services where Wily has established market
dominance in banking, credit, investment and insurance.
New customers in 2002 include Board of Trading Clearing
Corp., Experian, Federated Mutual, Fidelity, Geico, Royal
Bank of Canada, and several other top 20 global banking
and finance institutions.
- Telecommunications where Wilys new customers include
I3 Mobile, Sprint PCS, Telenor, Vizzavi (Vodafone), and
Voicestream.
- Services and Public Sector where Wily added the Department
of Education, Argos Ltd, Duke Energy, Pacific Gas & Electric,
and Time magazine.
Market segments where organizations are using customer-facing
enterprise Web applications in which quality of service is
closely linked with brand value have generated the greatest
demand for Wilys Introscope. Highlighting the business
impact of poor online service, a Jupiter Research survey
published in April 2002(1) reports that 80 percent of respondents
would be less likely to buy online from a merchant if they
have had a dissatisfying online experience, and 53 percent
would be less likely to buy offline from a merchant if they
have had a dissatisfying online experience.
The fact that we have already matched our full-year
2001 sales in the first half of this year in a very tough
economic environment is a testament to the incredible value
that Wilys patented Java application management solution
provides to our Fortune 1000 customers, said Dick Williams,
president and CEO of Wily Technology. Wilys solution
allows these enterprises to pinpoint performance issues with
precision and eliminate downtime so that they can better
ensure high Quality of Service to their customers. Our customers
tell us that we are doing an excellent job of meeting their
Java management needs as they deploy mission-critical Java
applications to sell products and deliver services.
Patented Solutions, Strategic Integrations Boost Wilys
Leadership
Wilys strategic partnerships and the proven success of its products have
not only spurred customer demand but have also contributed to its being named
a 2002 UPSIDE Hot 100 company and a 2002 Computerworld Top 100 Emerging Company
this year.
The Wily family of enterprise Web application management solutions includes
Wilys Introscope and Introscope PowerPacks. Introscope is the first complete
management solution to offer a whole application view into Java Web applications,
application servers and Java-connected back-end systems. Introscope PowerPacks
are extensions to Introscope that monitor key systems such as transaction servers,
databases and Java connectors, while fully integrating real-time application
performance data with existing system management frameworks
Built on Wily's patented agent technology, Wilys solutions
deliver unparalleled visibility across the entire Java application
and application server platform to quickly pinpoint performance
problems. As a result, customers are able to identify performance
problems within hours or days that previously would have
taken weeks or even months to find. These organizations can
ensure the high availability and performance their customers
demand from production applications and roll out new customer-ready
applications more quickly.
Additionally, Wily has established close partnerships with
BEA, IBM, Hewlett-Packard, and SunOne, which have integrated
Wilys AutoProbe interface, so that applications built
on these platforms can be automatically monitored for performance
issues without any changes to the application code.
In the first half of 2002, Wily introduced several new products
built on its patented technology, and announced additional
support for its partners platforms. These include:
- Wily Introscope 3.0, featuring extended integration
and enhanced functionality
