IBM to offer
Wily's Introscope® for Inclusion in SystemPac
Burlingame, CA - October 7, 2002 - Wily Technology, the
leader in Enterprise Java Application Management, today announced
that IBM has selected Introscope®, Wily's flagship Java
application management solution, for inclusion in SystemPac.
IBM's SystemPac is a system replacement vehicle for z/OS,
z/OS.e, and OS/390. It is the recommended IBM delivery vehicle
for customers who want to save time, resources, and effort
to migrate, install, exploit, and maintain their z/OS, z/OS.e,
or OS/390 system, system related products, and independent
software vendor products. SystemPac is designed to exploit
new technology and includes many tools required to build
an e-business Application Server environment, such as initial
setup and customization of WebSphere Application Server 4.0.1.
IBM mainframe customers worldwide are adopting Wily's solution
suite as the standard for enterprise Java application performance
and are using it to meet the essential criteria for successful
application deployment: Higher Availability, Better Performance
and Greater Control.
The inclusion of Introscope in SystemPac makes it easier
for IBM customers who are migrating to z/OS and OS/390 to
install and use Wily's Introscope. Wily Technology is the
only Java application management provider that offers component-level
visibility into live-production mainframe Java applications
and application servers. Integrated with WebSphere, Introscope
automatically monitors the Java application performance and
pinpoints the exact cause of bottlenecks whether inside the
application at the component level or in an external system
such as the database server, transaction server, or any back-end
system.
"SystemPac is an important software package for customers
migrating to z/OS and OS/390 platforms," said Bill Pettus,
IBM's global product support executive for server group products,
IBM Global Services. "By offering a completely customized
solution for z/OS and OS/390 that includes system-related
products, independent software vendor products and guidance
from service specialists, IBM has significantly eased the
migration process for its customers. Moreover, SystemPac
Plus, IBM's new solution based on SystemPac, adds an additional
layer of support to further reduce installation complexities
and provide real dollar savings to our customers."
"We are pleased that IBM has chosen to include Introscope
in SystemPac," said Steve Tucker, Wily's vice-president
of product management. "z/OS provides a high-performance
base for building and deploying Internet and Java enabled
applications. As more and more companies migrate to z/OS,
it's important that they have the means to monitor, improve
and manage these critical applications. Introscope has become
the leading Java application management solution because
it allows enterprises to better meet business objectives
by helping ensure high performance and 24x7 application availability."
