Wily Technology's
Introscope Monitors Health and Availability of IBM WebSphere
Portal
Wily's Family of Products for WebSphere Platform Creates
Comprehensive Management Solution
Brisbane, CA — July 28, 2003 — Wily Technology,
the leader in Enterprise Java Application Management, today
announced performance monitoring support for IBM WebSphere*
Portal. Wily's support for IBM WebSphere Portal combines
with Wily's suite of products for monitoring the health and
availability of WebSphere applications, WebSphere Application
Server and IBM connectors to back-end systems to create the
first comprehensive management solution for the WebSphere
platform.
Introscope offers a Whole Application™ view into the
entire application environment, allowing IT operations teams
and Java developers to identify performance problems whether
inside the application itself, the application server, or
in back-end transactional and supporting systems. Introscope's
Blame™ technology isolates component-level bottlenecks
all the way down to individual Servlets, JSPs, EJBs, Classes,
Methods and more. Because Introscope is completely Java-based,
enterprise IT teams can use Wily's AutoProbe™ technology
to automatically monitor the health and availability of key
IBM WebSphere Portal components. Additionally, Introscope
Transaction Tracer can identify individual WebSphere Portal
transactions and rapidly isolate poorly performing components.
Wily also provides monitoring and management support for
IBM WebSphere Application Server 5.0. The integration of
Wily's AutoProbe technology with IBM WebSphere 5.0 allows
enterprise customers to monitor WebSphere applications automatically
as soon as Introscope is installed. Introscope SQL Agent
enables IT personnel to view JDBC activity in IBM DB2-connected
applications down to the SQL statement level. Additionally,
Wily's Introscope PowerPacks for IBM WebSphere Application
Server 5.0, CICS Transaction Gateway and IBM WebSphere MQ
offer instant, component level monitoring of WebSphere Application
Server and connections to back-end systems.
"Wily's ability to monitor IBM WebSphere Portal offers enterprise
IT organizations a tremendous advantage," said Dick Williams,
Wily's president and CEO. "As more and more enterprises deploy
solutions on a single platform, the Application Platform
Suite, it's important that they have the means to ensure
superior performance for the applications themselves, the
application server and integration software such as connectors
to back-end systems. Introscope allows IT teams to proactively
monitor production systems and pinpoint component-level performance
issues around-the-clock, enabling enterprises to better ensure
high Quality of Service."
Introscope's support for the IBM WebSphere platform is a
feature of Wily 4, Wily Technology's comprehensive Java application
management solution. Wily 4 is proven, mature and enterprise
ready. Its flexibility allows it to meet the management needs
of any unique Java application environment. Wily 4 facilitates
inter-departmental communication by bridging the functional
silos in your IT organization. This allows problems to be
identified and solved quickly. Wily 4 delivers rapid payback
on corporate IT investments and more importantly, on the
investment companies make in serving their customers.
