Wily Technology
Launches Groundbreaking Study on Java Application Performance
2003 Wily Benchmark Survey of J2EE Application Performance
and Availability Expected to Definitively Assess Industry-wide
User Experiences
Brisbane, CA — September 15, 2003 — Wily Technology,
the leader in Enterprise Java Application Management, today
announced it has launched the industry's first comprehensive
survey of J2EE application performance. The 2003 Wily Benchmark
Survey of J2EE Application Performance and Availability will
measure industry-wide user experiences with J2EE application
deployment and management across a spectrum of enterprise
and public sector organizations worldwide.
The 2003 Wily Benchmark Survey of J2EE Application Performance
and Availability will explore the current Java application
infrastructure in each participant's organization; the availability
and performance of deployed applications; how those applications
are currently managed; and future plans for investing in
new hardware, middleware, and development technologies. The
survey report will chart cumulative responses alongside expert
analysis, enabling organizations to compare experiences and
strategies, to ensure their current systems are performing
well and to better plan for future technology investments.
Wily will publish the survey report in November 2003. Participation
in the survey is open to qualified respondents active in
the design, development, deployment, and management of J2EE
applications within an organization.
"IT organizations need to develop strategic plans that
address the new management requirements of today's application
environment without disrupting their current best practices
for existing applications," said Jasmine Noel, JNoel
Associates. "Wily's innovative J2EE Application Performance
and Availability survey is very timely and promises to be
thought provoking. The results will be invaluable for everyone
who supports the management and deployment of J2EE applications."
"The increasing ubiquity of Java-based e-business is
driving demand for application management, yet operations
and development managers responsible for those applications
have little or no insight into how their peers approach finding
and resolving performance problems or ensuring availability," said
Lewis Cirne, founder and chief technology officer, Wily Technology. "Wily
is initiating the industry's first J2EE application performance
and availability benchmark survey to bolster IT professionals'
knowledge base in this area. The survey results will serve
as a reference guide for J2EE application management activities,
as well as a tool that will enable network and application
managers to drive significant cost efficiencies and new revenue
opportunities through improved availability of enterprise
Java applications. This survey demonstrates Wily's dedication
to helping IT professionals reduce the everyday challenges
that they face in order to keep applications running at peak
performance."
How to Participate in the Survey
Participation is open for a limited time to those who have
an active role in developing or supporting Java applications.
The online survey is structured so that participants can
answer all the questions in less than 20 minutes. To participate
in the survey, please visit www.wilytech.com/2003/chartingJ2EE.
After completing the survey, participants will gain access
to a special collection of white papers; they will also receive
a copy of the survey analysis report when it is published
by Wily in November. Wily customers will automatically qualify
for participation and a copy of the report.
