Achieves Record First Quarter with New Customer Deals and
Burst of New Product Innovations
Wily Technology Ships Wily Introscope 5.0 and Eight New
Products in First Quarter
Brisbane, CA — May 3, 2004 — Wily Technology,
the leader in Enterprise Application Management, today highlighted
the Company's growing momentum of its management solutions
as industry-leading companies continue to prefer Wily for
monitoring and managing their most critical e-business applications.
Executing on its vision of providing real-time visibility
into the performance and availability of critical Web applications
and infrastructure systems, Wily has signed deals with many
new customers as well as expanded relationships with previously
signed customers. Wily also strengthened its strategic alliances,
expanded its partner ecosystem, and released eight new products
along with a significant upgrade to its flagship Introscope® management
solution. Quarterly sales increased significantly year over
year and set a new record for Q1.
Customer Deals Across All Industries
During the first quarter of 2004, Wily bolstered its leadership
across several vertical industries, including banking, financial
services, communications, government, healthcare, automotive
and retail. Bookings in Q1 included sales to AT&T, Advanced
PCS, The Chubb Corporation, Con-way Transportation Services,
Inc., CyberShift, Delta Financial Corp, GE Medical, Home
Depot, Jackson National Life, McCracken Financial Software,
Ontario Gaming, Royal Mail, Seagate Technology, Shaw Industries
and Toys R Us. Wily's customers share an understanding that
to stay competitive, their critical Web applications must
be constantly available and perform flawlessly every time
they are used. Wily's enterprise application management solutions
enable these organizations to innovate more rapidly and to
manage the risks associated with application performance.
Expansion of Industry Alliances
In addition to adding marquee customers, Wily grew and strengthened
its partner ecosystem. Leading application platform providers
such as BEA, Fujitsu, IBM, JBoss, Oracle and Sun have customers
who demand the highest levels of application performance
and availability. These vendors look to Wily to provide the
tools, skills and practices to enable their customers to
achieve their performance and availability goals.
In the first fiscal quarter of 2004, Wily completed the
BEA Partner Validation Program, which ensures that customers
can easily integrate Wily's Introscope 5.0 with the BEA WebLogic® Platform
8.1. Furthermore, Wily and IBM have expanded their alliance
to now include application management support for IBM's family
of WebSphere® Business Integration and WebSphere® Portal
solutions. Wily continues to expand its breadth of platform
support and increased flexibility for customers by being
the first application management solution to support JBoss® Application
Server. Now customers have the power and visibility they
need to manage J2EE applications running on open source application
servers.
Pioneering Innovation

a major release of its flagship product, Introscope 5.0." said

The comprehensive Wily 5 solution includes Introscope 5.0,
the cornerstone of the Wily family of products and the latest
edition of the most successful tool for managing J2EE applications
built on Java application platforms. Wily 5 also includes
Wily Portal Manager™, a first-to-market portal management
solution, with a version specifically designed to support
IBM WebSphere Portal. Completing its support for the entire
APS, Wily unveiled seven new Introscope® PowerPack™ products
designed to monitor and manage the performance and availability
of critical integration middleware adapters. The new Introscope
PowerPacks are extensions to Introscope 5.0 that enable organizations
to monitor and manage seven application and technology adapters
in the IBM WebSphere Business Integration family of products
including, mySAP.com, Oracle applications, PeopleSoft, Siebel
eBusiness applications, JDBC, JText and HTTP.
Executive Appointments
Wily strengthened its executive management team with the
promotion of Kent Smith to senior vice president of worldwide
field operations. Formerly vice president of business development
and alliances at Wily, Mr. Smith has extensive experience
in sales and corporate operations from his long tenure at
IBM, including serving as general manager for IBM China.
He was also chief operating officer at Legato Systems. In
other appointments, Kenton Sieckman joined as vice president
of field technical operations and is chartered with leading
and developing Wily's worldwide technical services, including
customer support, pre-sales, professional services and education.
Formerly with BEA Systems, Mr. Sieckman brings a strong technical
and sales background in the Java and enterprise software
market. Wily continues to broaden its international management
team with the appointment of Donald Choing to vice president
of Asia Pacific operations, who will help the Company increase
its presence in the growing Asia Pacific market. Mr. Choing
joins Wily from Legato Systems where he was vice president
of intercontinental operations, following many posts with
IBM Corp. over a 15 year tenure.
