How Introscope® for Microsoft® .NET Works
Component-Level Views | How Introscope Works | Introscope Features | Key Capabilities | Introscope Fits Your Process
Agents
Introscope agents collect performance metrics from the various
components inside the running Web application, the application
server and performance and availability data from the surrounding
computing environment. The agents then report these metrics to the
Enterprise Manager. No change to your source code is required.
Enterprise Manager
The Enterprise Manager acts
as the repository of Introscope performance metrics. It receives
performance metrics from one or more Introscope Agents, allowing
users to collect metrics centrally from many applications,
application servers and supporting systems. It then sends these metrics
to the MOM Enterprise Manager.
EPA
Introscope can measure the health and availability of application-connected systems, integrate that performance data with the Enterprise Manager and present it in the Introscope workstation.
Database
The Enterprise Manager stores performance data for use with Introscope's
ready-to-run reports. The historical performance database is easily used
by most report generation systems for custom report development.
Browser
Interface
Introscope WebView presents Introscope's customizable
dashboards and Explorer tree views to authorized users in
a browser interface so critical information can be viewed
by those who need it anytime, anywhere.
Workstation
The user controls Introscope and accesses performance metrics
through the Introscope Workstation.
Users can set alerts for individual metrics or logical metric
groups, view performance metrics, and customize views to
represent their unique environment.
System
Management Integration
Introscope seamlessly integrates Alerts,
Events and Performance Data with Systems Management frameworks.
Reporting
Introscope includes out-of-the-box reports for
application performance analysis, capacity planning and Service
Level Agreement administration, which make it easier to track
application performance over time and plan for future growth. |
